Police & Public Safety

Our safety is our top priority. Our police services study clearly shows what our police do and what it costs to have reliable, well trained officers ready to serve you.

Keizer has worked to transform its police force with full staffing, advanced technology like drones and park cameras, an ongoing cadet program for youth, school safety services, and community events such as BLAST Camp. Our community investment in police helps Keizer remain one of Oregon’s safest cities.

Economic Development

Twelve years ago, Keizer struggled with foreclosures and stalled developments. Today, Keizer Station thrives with major employers including a new hotel, River Road has new buildings and businesses, builders are expanding housing options, Verda Lane is being updated, health and wellness businesses are choosing Keizer, and city-owned properties will soon be privately owned and bring more jobs. positioning the city for continued growth and success. Real market property values since last year increased 2.3% to over $6.2B.

Parks

Twelve years ago, Keizer’s parks faced a backlog of maintenance, aging equipment, and no funds for improvements. Today, a $4.50/month fee funds park maintenance, installation of new, safe and accessible playgrounds, new sports courts, nature trails, and play fields. Our 19 parks are our hub of healthy play, outdoor recreation, and community belonging. Our new turf sports fields and upgraded ballfields bring high quality sports opportunities for our young athletes close to home. And our Gold Star Family Memorial Monument welcomes and honors our military families from across the nation.

Fiscal Management & Resources

Twelve years ago, Keizer struggled with unfunded state mandates, recession impacts, and rising service costs. Today, Keizer has a comprehensive strategic plan, data from a professionally conducted community survey, additional work by our volunteer long range planning task force, and a new municipal code and updated website which saves time and resources. All this while keeping our utility rates and service fees lower than other cities our size.

Cathy Clark envisions a Keizer that we are each proud to call our home. She is working with all Keizer residents and businesses to create a city where every resident thrives, people can run successful businesses and find good jobs, and families know they are in a safe community for their children to have a healthy and happy future.

Her leadership focuses on creating a community with strong economic opportunities, excellent public services, and a commitment to practical planning for the future. Sound and accountable fiscal management has kept Keizer able to contain costs and make every dollar entrusted to the city work hard to produce high value to our community. By fostering collaboration and innovation, Cathy aims to make Keizer a model city that others aspire to copy.

Under Cathy Clark’s leadership, Keizer will continue to grow and prosper. Her vision includes a strong local economy, improved infrastructure, and a community where everyone feels that they belong, are valued and are heard. Cathy is dedicated to making Keizer a place where families can flourish, businesses can succeed, and the environment is preserved for future generations.
